Little Girl is sooo happy! She found a forever home where she can hang around with the horses and other dogs. What a life! She is an approximately 5 year-old liver and white beagle/pointer mix. She is extremely sweet, well socialized with other dogs and kids, and house trained. Little Girl is slightly shy and slow to warm up but is overall loving and easy to have around. She's very good around horses and donkeys!!

Cinnamon has a new life with a new dad and a new home. She’s an only child and is loving the attention she’s receiving. She thanks her lucky stars that she found a home where she can sleep on the bed!

Meet Sparky. He was our first rescue dog at Extra Mile. Sparky had demonstrated some behavior issues and was no longer welcome in the shelter where he was living. We were able to take him out of the shelter and, through behavior modification, turn him into the perfect dog! He turned out so perfect, in fact, that his foster family wasn't able to part with him and have officially adopted the big guy! Sparky has become a critical member of the family, helping to welcome new foster dogs as well as showing them the house rules. He also played a large role in rehabilitating a feral dog that was living in the house, too. Congratulations, Sparky!

Duffy has a new home, a new name (Jake), and a new sister (Shelby)! He goes for long walks and cool swims and falls asleep early because his days are full of activity. Duffy loves his forever home!

Ramsey’s forever home is the perfect place for him. His family quickly took over the reinforcement of his good behaviors and has turned Ramsey into a consistently well-behaved member of the family. What a terrific match! Thank you for turning Ramsey’s life around and spending the time needed to allow him to be the best boy ever.

Hurray for Huxley! He is living the life of a king with his new mom. It must be tough having to go for long walks or runs, play with squeaky toys, snuggle, eat, and sleep every day. If only we could all have such a life! Congratulations on happiness, Hux.

Gabby loves her new family and they adore her. They spend lots of time together walking and playing and practicing new commands. Gabby’s father takes her to work sometimes where she’s able to show off her great personality. Gabby hit the jackpot when she found her new forever home. Her mother and father can’t imagine their lives without her.

Bobby is enjoying his life in his forever home. He has canine companions that sleep with him and he’s able to get all the cheese treats he could possibly want. His howl is fondly recognized around the neighborhood. What a great place for an abandoned hunting dog!

Boots has won the dog lottery! He has found the perfect forever home with a mother who jogs and two kittens that are really curious about him. Boots can’t wait for the kittens to decide they’d rather sleep with him than with his mother.

Beethoven has started a new life with a new name -- Buddy. His guardian takes great care of him and doesn’t know what she would do without him. Congratulations, Buddy, on finding such a loving companion.

A recent email from his family reports that Buddy is in perfect health. Both he and his mom are enjoying each other immensely.

Bogie’s forever home is exactly right for him. He has a large backyard where he has play dates with his neighborhood canine friends including Boots, another adopted Extra Mile dog. Bogie also shares his home with cats and respects their space. His mother takes him for a long walk each day and reports that he continues to be the perfect dog.

Sophie's life has been transformed. Her forever mom has created a wonderful environment for Sophie that brings out the best in her. Sophie receives consistent reinforcement for all the good behaviors she exhibits and regularly works on being the best companion she can be. Yogurt and pineapple are some of her new favorite foods and she goes for walks in a big grassy yard where she can roll on her back as much as she wants. What a life!

Jake has a new sister in his forever home. He and Betsy hang out together all day and are best buddies. Jake loves running around in the backyard and is always wagging his tail. His family has continued Jake’s progress with his behavior modification and is providing a stable, loving environment that allows Jake to be a well-behaved family member.

A recent email from Jake's family reports that he is a very happy dog and they love him dearly!

Clark has become a couch potato at his forever home. He also has some new neighbors who are slightly bigger than he his - horses! Clark is looking forward to accompanying his new family when they ride their motorcycles. They purchased a sidecar just for him!
